America being Attacked

I am a mother of two children living in Aberdeen/Edgewood area of Maryland (near a military base) - a 15 year old and a 2 year old. My 15 year old has been very upset by the events of yesterday and I feel rightly so. We sat and watched the events unfold together yesterday and he asked many questions. I answered his questions as honestly as I could. He went to bed fearful that something else would happen, as I think most of us did. I have let him sleep in this morning. I don't know whether I will make him go to school today or not. I fear his anger at this situation and his fearfulness are going to effect is performance. He wants total retaliation against those who did this. Am I wrong for allowing him to stay home? I also am amazed that even my two year old has grasped that something "bad" has happened. She also has in some way grasped that there has been death. I guess even at this tender age they can relate to this by things in their short little lives - bugs dying, etc. She even slept very rough last night. I want to cry and can't for fear of the effect this will have on my children. We try to stay strong and it is very hard. I fear this is only the beginning. I still shake when I think of the events that are unfolding in our own Country. I pray for the victims of yesterday and I pray for all of us. I pray God gives us the strength and the knowledge to get through this as a unified Country and as unified families and communities. If anyone else has input to my fear for my son please respond.
